ManTech Chief Cyber Security Engineer in Washington, District Of Columbia

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Chief Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in the national capital region.

The Chief Cyber Security Engineer is a senior engineer who independently performs a variety of system design and integration tasks which are broad in nature and are concerned with design, implementation and architecting of major systems, systems of systems, integration of systems elements and related support systems.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists the Program Manager with technical responsibilities

  • Develops cutting-edge solutions that display ingenuity and are achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts in the field. Requires expert knowledge and mastery of highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts.

  • Often supervises a broad team of engineers through project completion.

  • Considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more specific areas of cybersecurity, computer system design and networking.

  • Provide senior level cyber-security engineering services and technical leadership of engineering team and executes security engineering activities during the analysis, design, development, and sustainment phases

  • Analyze the security of the pipelines, applications, and services to achieve release and deployment and provides integration and implementation of security solutions and security features for system architectures

  • Defines holistic cloud security strategy and implement cloud orchestration tools and solutions to meet cloud security architecture requirements, policies, and procedures

  • Implements, maintains, and improves existing industry best practices of NIST security controls such as identity and access management, IDS/IPS, log analytics, encryption and data security

  • Resolves and mitigates vulnerabilities, design security functions, and provides evidence-based reasoning to substantiate claims for trustworthy and secure work products

  • Responsible for security engineering activities during the analysis, design, development, and sustainment phases that meet the security requirements 

  • Ensures that security solutions are consistent with the National Cybersecurity Protection System (NCPS) Security Architecture 

  • Designs, develops, builds and deploys highly scalable, fault-tolerant, elastic and secure cloud based and distributed services with a variety of cloud-based architectures (public, private and hybrid) 

  • SME in managing and implementing cyber security and digital risk management solutions (examples: ForeScout and RSA) to accomplish feature deployment, security policy implementation, multi-factor authentication 

  • Ensure access control enforcement, activity monitoring, configuration tuning, and system administration 

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree

  • A minimum of (15) fifteen years of experience. In lieu of a degree an additional (4) four years of experience will be considered

  • A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification with two (2) years of experience -OR- four (4) years of experience employed in a governmental organization (as a government or contract employee) as a cybersecurity engineer.

  • A minimum of (2) two years of experience with governmental (FedRAMP) hybrid on-premises and cloud technology stack environments, with preference given to cybersecurity engineers with transition experience moving from an on-premises to a hybrid on-premises and cloud network solution.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • May require travel to various customer locations

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Must hold a current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time

  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
