Insight Global CAD Drafter in Washington, District Of Columbia

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CAD Drafter to join our team, supporting the Owner's Representative Program that provides oversight and assistance to construction projects. The ideal candidate will work closely will support a team of three architects to create and update layouts for modular furniture, ensuring precise and efficient designs. Future projects may range from space planning, electrical, mechanical, or fire alarm drawing assistance.

 Utilize AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software to produce detailed drawings and layouts for office space planning, particularly with modular furniture. Ensure all designs meet specified sizes and requirements.

 Work closely with a team of architects to ensure accurate and timely completion of furniture layouts. Engage in regular meetings to discuss project progress and address any design challenges.

 Update as-built drawings, including architectural, electrical, and fire alarm systems. Ensure all updates are accurately reflected in the project documentation.

 Review and verify the accuracy of drawings and layouts. Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards and project specifications.

 Coordinate with off-site furniture manufacturers to ensure modular furniture is built to specifications and delivered on time. Address any discrepancies between design and final product.

 Potential involvement in drafting for electrical, mechanical, and other systems as needed. Expand skill set to support various aspects of construction projects.

 Support issues that arise during the drafting process. Work with the team to find solutions and ensure project timelines are met.

Skills and Requirements

Must Haves:

 Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CAD Drafter.

 1 YOE support space planning projectsideally experience ensuring modular furniture fits within a designated space.

 Proficiency in AutoCAD

 Associate degree in a construction-related field, trade school certification, or equivalent. MicroStation null
