Associate Director, Software Engineering

The Team:

The candidate will join the IT Content Platforms team to build new platforms as well as continuously improve existing platforms to meet the needs of the business. This position requires deep technical knowledge and experience.

The Content Portfolio suite of platforms and services includes content creation with annotation and tagging, packaging and layout curation and automation, digital rights management, content transfer services, foreign language translation services, as well as an AI Project Hub.

Responsibilities and Impact:

As a Technical Lead, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing internal content platforms. Your contributions will directly impact the Commodity Insights business by enhancing the speed and efficiency, leading to faster decision-making for our clients and a competitive edge in the market.

  • Collaborate with product owners and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, develop solution options, and ensure successful implementation.

  • Design and optimize content platforms, enhancing speed and efficiency to support faster decision-making for clients.

  • Lead technical projects and mentor developers in an agile environment, adopting new technologies and ensuring deliverables are met.

  • Implement DevOps practices, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, while ensuring security compliance.

  • Conduct impact analyses for functional and technical changes, coordinating with shared service teams.

  • Create Proof of Concepts (POCs) and provide technical recommendations backed by evidence.

What We’re Looking For

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 9+ years of hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, Springboot, React, HTML/CSS/Javascript; Python and Angular are beneficial.

  • 2+ years of leadership experience in guiding and developing teams to drive successful project outcomes.

  • Strong knowledge of databases, integration architectures, and data modeling.

  • Proficiency in API best practices, application servers, cloud services (AWS), and secure development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with GenAI/LLM models and prompt engineering.

  • Familiarity with single sign-on integrations (IDP, SP initiated, SAML, OAuth/OpenID).

  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies and enterprise-level application development.

  • Excellent communication skills for authoring technical documents and presenting designs.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $150,000. The final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
