District of Columbia Courts Assistant Case Manager (Family ADR Branch) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary This position is located in the Family Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Branch of the Multi-Door Dispute Resolution Division of the District of Columbia Superior Court. The Family Assistant ADR Case Manager is responsible for assisting with managing a caseload of truancy, child abuse and neglect, contested divorce, custody, and family-related issues referred by various sources, including Family Court, to mediation. Responsibilities Brief descriptions of duties include: Schedules mediation sessions and assigns mediators. Maintains the calendar spreadsheet and assists in the data collection for mediation case assignments and mediator term reviews. Monitors and processes case referrals for all family, child protection, truancy cases, and the parent educational seminar. Coordinates and monitors monthly community mediator availability calendar. Creates a caseload distribution schedule and assigns the Case Manager and Mediator to the case. Assists Case Managers by preparing case files for mediation, which includes a variety of case management forms. Provides effective customer service by responding promptly and courteously to telephone calls, emails, and personal inquiries from the public. Assists with research and updating the Family Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Branch Manual. Provides desk coverage, answers the telephone, and checks in participants for the Community Information and Referral Program and the Director’s Office according to established guidelines. Requirements Conditions of Employment A background and security investigation is required. A probationary period of one (1) year must be successfully completed. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED plus two (2) years of administrative or clerical experience in a court or legal environment; or an associate's degree. If you are selected for the position, a criminal history records check will be conducted. Education To qualify based on education, upload a copy of your college transcript or degree.
