We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Account Executive to join our esteemed COA (Clinical Outcome Assessment) team at Lionbridge. In this critical role, you will be responsible for proactively and independently engaging with existing customers to maintain, develop and grow new relationships and revenue streams across your portfolio of assigned accounts. Your primary focus will be on growth, through strategically positioning and selling Lionbridge as a preferred provider of COA and eCOA language and localization solutions. Your efforts will be evidenced in your ability to conduct thorough needs assessments drawing on your deep COA expertise, maintaining a robust and up-to-date pipeline, and identifying upsell opportunities to drive revenue growth. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders will be essential to foster strong relationships and deliver exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of industry and client needs in the clinical trials and clinical outcomes domain, will have effective communication skills, and importantly, will be able to show a proven track record of meeting/exceeding revenue targets selling into this area of clinical trial support.

What You Will Do:

  • Independently manage and develop customers and contacts within assigned COA/eCOA accounts as well as Lionbridge’s client base of pharma sponsors to present Lionbridge's solutions and services, effectively articulating the value proposition.

  • Maintain a robust and up-to-date pipeline, identifying and pursuing existing and upsell opportunities to achieve set revenue quotas within the COA sector.

  • Understand client requirements by conducting thorough needs assessments, ensuring a tailored approach to presenting solutions that meet specific needs and challenges.

  • Educate customers and clients on Lionbridge's service lines, solutions, pricing, and availability, consistently exceeding revenue targets.

  • Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders (internal and external), maintaining regular communication to address inquiries and provide updates.

  • Provide regular updates and reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and performance metrics to management, contributing to overall sales strategy and planning.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments within the clinical outcome assessment sector, incorporating market insights into sales strategies.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance and support throughout the sales process to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

To Be Successful You Will Have:

  • Industry Knowledge: A sound understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, particularly clinical trial operations, regulatory requirements, and the importance of clinical outcome assessments (COAs) in drug development.

  • Language Services Expertise: Experience in selling language solutions such as translation, interpretation, localization, and linguistic validation services tailored to the needs of clinical trial operations and COA support.

  • Familiarity with COA Tools and Instruments: Proficiency in COA tools and instruments commonly used in clinical trials, such as patient-reported outcomes (PROs), clinician-reported outcomes (ClinROs), observer-reported outcomes (ObsROs), and performance outcome measures (PerfOs).

  • Consultative Selling Skills: Ability to understand the unique challenges and requirements of clinical trial sponsors, CROs (Contract Research Organizations), and other stakeholders involved in COA implementation, and offer tailored language solutions to address their needs.

  • Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in the clinical trial industry, including clinical operations managers, regulatory affairs professionals, and medical directors.

  • Results-Oriented Approach: Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets, driving revenue growth, and expanding market share within the language services segment of the clinical trial industry.

  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex language solutions and COA support services in a clear, compelling manner to diverse audiences.

  • Adaptability and Innovation: Willingness to stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting clinical outcome assessment requirements, and proactively identify innovative solutions to meet evolving client needs.

  • Project Management Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams (e.g., project managers, linguists, quality assurance specialists) to ensure successful execution and delivery of language services projects within the clinical trial space.
