Recognizing the integral role of nutrition in the healing process, our center seeks a dedicated Kitchen Staff/Cook to support our mission. This role is vital in ensuring that our clients receive nutritious meals tailored to support their journey towards health and well-being.

Job Overview: The Kitchen Staff/Cook at Bridgemark is a central figure in our recovery support system, tasked with the preparation of nutritious meals that cater to the varied dietary needs of our clients. Without a large culinary team, this role requires independence, creativity, and a deep commitment to contributing positively to the recovery environment. You will be instrumental in not only providing meals but also in upholding the standards of safety, cleanliness, and dietary compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently prepare and cook meals according to set recipes and quality standards.
  • Participate in the planning of menus and the creation of new, nutritious dishes that meet the dietary guidelines and support client health.
  • Ensure all meals are prepared in a timely manner, maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Keep the kitchen area clean and organized, following proper food storage practices and adhering to sanitation and safety procedures.
  • Address the dietary restrictions and preferences of clients, demonstrating flexibility and understanding in meal preparation.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, coordinating with the center's staff to ensure dietary needs are met and operations run smoothly.

Qualifications:

  • ServSafe certification or equivalent required.
  • Previous kitchen experience, particularly in a healthcare or residential setting, is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, essential for both kitchen efficiency and contributing to the supportive atmosphere of the treatment center.
  • Adept at managing multiple tasks and demonstrating flexibility in catering to the needs of clients.
  • Proficiency in a variety of cooking techniques and knife skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
