Job Description

The Fraud Identity Evaluation Analyst will support identity fraud mitigation and vendor efficacy evaluations. This includes involvement in identification of fraud risks (1st Party, 3rd Party, Account Take Over and Account Origination), evaluation of potential risk mitigation solutions, and assessment of the financial impact for fraud and identity management controls. The role will be involved in creation of cost-benefit analysis that incorporates estimates for fraud loss reduction, operational expense, and revenue impacts. This role will be engaged with vendor management activities including invoice reconciliation, evaluate reasons for expense changes, and be the business line representative to assist the finance team in budget forecasting.

The candidate will be a part of project teams supporting technical, process, strategic, analysis and operations functions. The role will assist in completing financial analysis to estimate the potential fraud reduction of new products, features, or controls. That also includes post-implementation validation of financial performance of fraud mitigation tools. Completion of process flows, determining utilization strategies, and creating analytically driven justifications compiled into executive presentations will be critical to success.

The role will work closely with vendor management teams to assess impacts of proposed contracts, identify expense reduction opportunities, and forecast utilization changes. Identifying the key needs to support model risk governance policy and the ability to assist in securing approvals is required. Critical to the candidate’s success is strong SAS/SQL programming skills, and fraud domain expertise. The position relies on the individual to be an initiative-taker, results driven, comfortable preparing reports and presentations, working in situations of ambiguity and deliver effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform ad hoc analysis using SAS, SQL, R, Python, or similar programming language to tie data from multiple sources together and recommending opportunities for enhancements

  • Complete robust financial impact assessments and forecasting

  • Identify fraud mitigation opportunities and assess operational, procedural and revenue impacts

  • Engage in vendor contract evaluation, issue management, impact assessment, track and communicate outcomes

  • Track and monitor projects, data and metrics

  • Respond to unexpected events and findings

  • Adhere to team standards, compliance and regulatory items, passing all audits

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Typically more than five years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Thorough knowledge of departmental data sources, fraud risk, and operations management associated with the product lines

  • Strong analytical skills relative to financial management, cost benefit analysis, evaluating fraud prevention infrastructure and forecasting fraud loss trends

  • Strong project management skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Engage in root cause analysis

  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications and data analysis software

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days
