DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Wildlife Technician, you will serve as part of a fully functional wildlife management team whose objectives are to safely and successfully coordinate and conduct the capture, tagging, and radio-collaring of black bears.  You will be responsible for managing and maintaining capture equipment, collars, and collaring equipment, and assisting with data entry and database management.  This position also involves monitoring movements and survival of radio-collaring black bears using VHS, satellite, or GPS technology, and specialized software.  You will respond to black bear mortalities to collect samples and assess causes.  You will have the opportunity to provide region support for agency-wide program activities including but not limited to deer aging, chronic wasting disease (CWD) surveillance and management, and bear check stations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: 3-year limited term, full-time employment, 40 hours/week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Graduation from an Associate Degree Program in Wildlife Management;or Any combination of experience or training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Special Requirement: You must possess a valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle operator's license.
