Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is hiring Mechanical Engineers who will support high-quality engineering, scientific, and technical support services under contract to current government customers located in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Apply technical concepts, techniques, and procedures to lead a project team in the development of technical products including identifying and documenting project functional requirements, defining and organizing proposed projects into the tasks and activities needed to solve the problems being addressed, scheduling work to meet completion dates and technical specifications, and provide technical guidance and oversight to lower-level technical staff.

  • Analyze, design, prototype development, and testing of aircraft parts and subsystems including the subsequent validation process.

  • Perform root-cause and tear-down analysis to identify technical needs that solve high-profile maintenance issues for DoD air and ground vehicles.

  • Determine and propose life extension solutions to aging structures via repair, replacement, or engineering change options.

  • Develop finite element models used to evaluate vehicle components.

  • Create production-level technical data packages (Level 3).

  • Prepare and review input to technical reports, status reports, letters, technical memoranda, contract reports, and formal briefings. May author or co-author technical reports.

  • Prepares and provides formal briefings to the staff and project sponsors. Leads technical discussions at project review sessions and in negotiations with the project sponsor.

  • Identify opportunities for follow-on tasking for current projects; develop related briefings, specific project proposals, and work through appropriate channels to schedule presentation of briefings and proposals to prospective customers.

  • Provide input and support to larger intra-organizational proposal development efforts. May have some exposure to and provide input to inter-organizational technical and business development activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 0 - 2 years experience with Bachelor's in related field.

  • Knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques in area of expertise.

  • Familiar with relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software.

  • Effective customer and organizational level communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite programs, AutoCad, and Solid Works or an equivalent 3D modeling program that includes Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

Preferred Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience.

Physical Requirements

  • May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
