Job Title: PPI Manager

Location: This role will be based at our Ward Hill, MA facility.

How will you make an impact?

As part of the site leadership team, you will lead and facilitate the implementation of the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System at the Ward Hill site to enable profitable growth, intensify the customer experience and increase employee engagement. The position collaborates with key partners to lead projects and kaizen events by deploying structured problem solving to improve systems and eliminate waste. The role involves facilitating the lean fundamentals, such as visual management/5S, value stream mapping, standard work, metric boards, stand-up meetings, gemba walks, leader standard work, project funnel coordination and management, and lead the PPI road map to drive continues improvement cultural change. It also involves developing capabilities in these areas by training teams and providing coaching through the events, while demonstrating findings from other sites.

What will you do?

  • Lead/work with functional teams to streamline processes to improve the customer experience, enable profitable growth and become more efficient

  • Subtly develop an action-biased culture of continuous improvement to improve key performance indicators, in the areas of customer, finance, people and quality

  • Provide support to develop problem solving capability within the organization at all levels

  • Train, coach and follow-up with teams to ensure system improvements are sustained and the partners are running the processes independently

  • Work closely with site PPI steering committee to identify ways to accelerate the culture change necessary to support the PPI Business System

  • Provide ongoing support to multiple teams

  • Help teams identify new projects through value stream mapping, data analysis and daily management systems

  • Work with the corporate PPI team to develop/promote/standardize the PPI Business System further and share standard processes

  • Track PPI engagement and tool usage within the site

  • Lead and develop the PPI project funnel

How will you get here?

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, supply chain, operations or business preferred. High School with demonstrated ability in Lean and Six Sigma

  • Diploma/GED required.

  • Certified Six Sigma professional / World Class Manufacturing certified instructor

Experience:

  • Leadership roles from fields such as operations, commercial, engineering, quality, supply chain or product management

  • A Lean Practitioner with 8+ years of experience with ‘hands-on’ track record of implementing successful TPS fundamentals and cultural change. Including elements such as: Visual management/5S, value stream mapping, standard work, metric boards, stand-up meetings, gamba walks, leader standard work, and project funnel coordination and management

  • Expertise in problem-solving applying a formal program/process

  • Experience in lean 6 sigma, Black Belt, lean methodologies

  • Experience in warehousing, supply chain or logistics

  • Proven experience in using Data Analytics/sense making to pre-empt or provide preventative action items rather than reactive problem solving

  • Ability to identify attackable loss though financial data analysis

Passion for driving improvement and leading change

Proven track record for developing, training, and coaching teams

Great communicator, including solid written, oral and presentation-giving skills.

Broad knowledge of multi-functional processes and financial business methods

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organization

A comprehensive problem solver who can look site-wide to integrate and streamline systems for optimal benefit

Able to drive continuous improvement in both non-operational and operational areas, including connecting the cross-functional resources to remove waste along the extended value streams
