Job Summary

The Volunteer Support Specialist is responsible for providing excellent customer service to Girl Scout volunteers. With a focus on membership retention and support in an assigned geographic area, the Volunteer Support Specialist works collaboratively to ensure volunteers are prepared to deliver a high-quality Girl Scout Leadership Experience. This position is a hybrid work arrangement with approximately 50% of travel within the council service area

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Deliver exceptional customer service to support GSEMA members with a focus on volunteers.

• Update member records utilizing Salesforce

• Provide in-person volunteer support within assigned region

• Implement, proactively, strategic initiatives to retain Girl Scout membership within assigned region

• Manage and mentor service unit (community leadership) volunteers; collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and recommend volunteers for expanded roles and additional opportunities.

• Recognize, celebrate and appreciate volunteers annually through a variety of formal and informal methods.

• Assist in planning, promoting and executing signature volunteer events annually.

• Collaborate with other staff across all GSEMA departments to enhance and deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to members

• Promote volunteer trainings, programs, events, camp, travel, and troop volunteerism.

• Address, resolve and oversee member conflicts, escalating sensitive issues to senior leadership as appropriate.
