Description of Work
Salary Grade: NC08 Salary Range: $35,788 - $62,628
The primary purpose of the position is to perform all accounting duties of the Permit Unit according to Department of Transportation Fiscal policy. This position is responsible for compiling and reporting statistical data relating to monetary collections, and other factual data required for Division of Highway administrative staff, Department of Transportation officials and the Federal Highway Administration. This position also is responsible for the daily computer entries to update escrow accounts; audit computer logs; send statements of payments, post payments, make deposits of monies received, direct contact with escrow individual/companies with reference to payments and all inquiries relating to escrow accounts. Daily audit, close out and deposit of revenue collected. Answers incoming calls to assist all Division/District offices with issues relating to issuance of House Mover permits and revenues collected. Audits all Division/District permits issued and collection reports. This position receives and manages weigh station maintenance requests. This position works with vendors and NCDOT staff to coordinate, schedule and follow up on all maintenance requests. This position is responsible for preparing and managing contracts for various scale maintenance with approved vendors. This position supervises and provides backup to the temporary Processing Assistant position.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
