We are currently seeking talented individuals for our Technology Support Specialist position!

Here is some of what you’ll do…

POSITION SUMMARY: The Technology Support Specialist reports to the Hawaii Operations Manager and is responsible for providing customer support through the performance of on-site installations, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of on-machine systems and technical customer training. The Technology Support Specialist should have a background in mechanical and electrical engineering. Working as a subject matter expert, the Technology Support Specialist is responsible for professional installation of Trimble 2D and 3D machine control systems and telematics hardware on non-Cat branded machines and the professional installation of Cat AccuGrade systems on Cat machines.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in the development of localized training materials and provides training to end-users on the operation of Machine Control systems.

  • Delivers quality technical assistance on time and ensures customer satisfaction.

  • Acts as primary resource in providing on-machine installation, maintenance, and training on heavy civil construction technology at the customer’s site.

  • Ensures the operational quality of the system by documenting post-installation tests.

  • Provides on-site troubleshooting as requested by the sales and technical support organizations.

  • Provides high-level operator training to end-users.

  • Ensures that installation, training, and other work necessary is completed on time.

  • Documents and reports field activities as well as is pro-active in creating process improvement.

  • Assists sales and marketing with trade shows and events.

  • Drives revenue based upon performance of services for construction machine customers.

  • Creates and provides localized training services for qualified customers and third party organizations with the intent to educate and expand the overall business of machine related construction within the region.

  • Assists the SITECH Operations Team with tasks related to equipment shipping, receiving, and handling.

  • Is responsible for the maintenance of the rental equipment fleet: inspects, checks in/out, cleans, updates software, and repairs when necessary.

  • Provides support to and works under the supervision of the Hawaii Operations Manager, assisting in the repairs, maintenance, and calibration of equipment in the repair center.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.

  • Must have PC skills.

  • Must have familiarity with heavy equipment and hydraulic systems.

  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine control products.

  • Must have the ability to present and follow a prescribed training outline in a professional manner.

  • Must have the ability to follow both routine and advanced procedures and to think analytically.

  • Must have the ability to plan and organize work with minimal supervision, but also work well in a team environment.

  • Must have demonstrated sound business judgement and decision making skills.

  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and problem solving skills as well as a strong command of written and verbal English.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Walking: Moves about on foot, often through uneven terrain.

  • Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.

  • Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts and tools.

  • Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.

  • Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.

  • Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.

  • Climbing: In and out of equipment.

  • Vision: Reads rental documents, invoices, and bills.

  • Talking: Communicates by phone and in person.

  • Sitting: Sits in equipment and vehicles for extended periods.

  • Lifting: Lifts up to 60lbs. daily, frequent exertion.

    ENVIRONMENTAL:

  • Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.

  • Temp/Weather: Works in an office and outdoor environment , with variations of temperature and weather .

  • Exposure: Subject to foul odors, fumes, and harsh substances.
