We are currently seeking talented individuals for our Counter/Warehouse position!

Here is some of what you’ll do…

POSITION SUMMARY:Under the general direction of the Parts Manager, the Counter/Warehouse position helps walk-in customers and service department with parts orders. The Counter/Warehouse position maintains the parts and equipment warehouses and is responsible for receiving and shipping all parts and equipment.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Takes Parts orders from walk-in customers. Orders may be placed by part number and description or only by description. Ensures that the correct part numbers are supplied for the specific model and serial number of the machine or component involved.

  • Receives Parts orders from the service department’s field and shop technicians. Such orders may be submitted from the field and may include parts numbers or only descriptions.

  • When specific orders are not available from the Parts department, or to avoid excessive travel time by field technicians, orders parts from local suppliers. Prepares the purchase order from the local supplier.

  • Assists customers with tracing parts numbers; must be familiar with all vendor parts ordering systems and parts book programs.

  • Receives stock shipments from Toro, Exmark, Club Car, etc. Notes any discrepancies on the appropriate receiving document marking damaged and short shipments.

  • Puts the stock in the proper designated storage area in a timely manner.

  • Manages the will calls storage and makes sure parts orders placed on will call are current and customers have been informed by telephone or e-mail that their orders are on will call.

  • Ensures that all items leaving the warehouse are recorded on parts documents or other control documents and are signed with the proper authorization.

  • Counts daily inventory as required to keep the established time requirements to meet yearly cut off.

  • Conducts bin counts daily as well as no locations reports.

  • Inspects part returns from customers and the shop to make sure parts are returnable and in good condition.

  • Issues credits on return parts and makes sure all appropriate restocking charges have been charged.

  • Operates material handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, etc. to move goods safely and properly.

  • Makes pickups and deliveries using the company vehicle and may use a trailer to deliver small equipment.

  • Ensures that all parts and equipment are clearly identified and adequately protected against rust or weather conditions. All equipment must be cleaned prior to delivery.

  • Performs daily warehouse cleanup and maintains the highest housekeeping standards.

  • Adheres strictly to all company safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Assists in maintaining stringent security controls in the warehouse and surrounding areas.

  • Advises the Parts Manager of any problems or any ideas to improve customer service.

  • Performs other warehouse/counter duties as required.

  • Reports matters of managerial importance to the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.

  • Must have PC skills.

  • Must be forklift certified or able to be certified within 60 days.

  • Must have previous customer service experience with at least one year experience working in a service shop or parts department.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Walking: Moves about on foot, often through uneven terrain.

  • Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.

  • Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts and tools.

  • Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.

  • Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.

  • Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.

  • Climbing: In and out of equipment.

  • Vision: Reads paperwork and records on the computer.

  • Talking: Communicates by phone and in person.

  • Sitting: Sits in at desk or in equipment for extended periods.

  • Lifting: Lifts up to 60lbs. daily, frequent exertion.

    ENVIRONMENTAL:

  • Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.

  • Temp/Weather: Works outside and in shop with variations of temperature and weather.

  • Exposure: Subject to foul odors, fumes, and harsh substances.
