Overview

The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for developing comprehensive solutions across ServiceNow. This role provides expert guidance to 3rd party developers and administrators, addressing advanced user-reported issues. Proficient in business processes and administration of multiple modules and integrations, they operate within an Agile Scrum Methodology, collaborating cross-functionally across different platform modules. Working closely with the rest of the Gentiva ITSM Team, this role identifies solutions through existing functionalities or customizations, and is involved in the development, testing, installation, and maintenance of new or modified solutions. This role demands advanced knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, including advanced training, certifications, and proficiency in various front-end web development languages.

General Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of complex ITSM workflows for efficient escalations and communications.

  • Customize and configure Discovery, Event Management, and the CMDB to automate incident creation and enhance infrastructure visibility.

  • Manage small projects for Custom Applications development, aligning requirements to business needs, and creating standard operating procedures.

  • Lead integration efforts for new modules, store applications, integrations, and spokes.

  • Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow solutions to meet business requirements.

  • Collaborate with IT Service Management Team and key stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into ServiceNow solutions.

  • Ensure coherence and alignment of ServiceNow solutions with overall ITSM processes and objectives.

  • Configure and customize ServiceNow modules to improve IT service delivery and efficiency.

  • Maintain and optimize ServiceNow configurations for performance and scalability.

  • Ensure adherence to ITIL best practices in ServiceNow configurations and customizations.

  • Provide technical expertise and support for ServiceNow-related issues and projects.

  • Stay informed about ServiceNow updates and enhancements, recommending best practices for implementation.

  • Develop, design, configure, and roll out new application modules, workflows, and catalog requests.

  • Create and maintain Service Catalog Items and Knowledge Bases.

  • Design and deliver technical solutions on the ServiceNow platform for internal employees.

  • Provide software configuration and customization, including screen tailoring, workflow administration, report setup, data imports, integration, custom scripting, and third-party software integrations.

  • Create integrations and process automation using API and data integration processes between ServiceNow and other services.

  • Architect integrations with ServiceNow using LDAP, Single Sign-on, Mid server, Web-services, Email, and in-house applications and technologies.

  • Participate in sizing the application for future growth and scalability.

  • Perform technical configurations, application maintenance, and housekeeping activities.

  • Design application security and own data security function.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to ServiceNow application configuration and other technical issues.

  • Apply large-scale thinking to design solutions effectively.

About You

  • 4 years’ experience with Rest APIs.

  • 4 years’ experience with web-based development languages (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX, HTTP, XML).

  • 4 years’ experience with SQL and relational databases.

  • 2 years’ experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) & HR Service Delivery (HRSD).

  • ITIL related certification (Foundations or higher).

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (preferred).

  • Experience in implementing Mobile Agent App

  • Experience in implementing Virtual Agents

  • Experience in Enterprise Asset Management (preferred)

  • Experience with Integration Hub, Managed and Custom Spokes.

  • Experience building Custom Applications, including roles, tables, metrics, & reporting.

  • Ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in ServiceNow development and implementation.

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification preferred.

  • Prior experience integrating ServiceNow to other applications and ability to adapt existing methods and procedures to create possible solutions to complex problems.

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
