Job Description

Responsibilities:

·Mouse colony maintenance (breeding, genotyping, injections, record keeping).

·Perform RNA/DNA extractions, processing, and analytical methods (including qPCR and genomic library preparations).

·Perform cell and embryo culture.

·Assist other laboratory members and technical staff in the design, planning, and coordinating of experiments in support of various research projects.

·Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and detailed records of data.

·Order and receive laboratory supplies and maintain inventory.

·Maintain laboratory equipment.

·Oversee laboratory safety.

·Assist the principal investigator and other laboratory methods with preparing reports, figures, invoices, cataloging records and other documents.

·Other duties and tasks as assigned.

-Assists undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research.

Required Education and Experience:

-Bachelor's degree in related field

Preferred Education and Experience:

-Bachelor's degree in biology, genetics, developmental biology, or related field

  • Two or more years of related experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.

-Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.

Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-General molecular biology and bench laboratory experience

-Nucleic acid extraction and analysis

-Small animal handling and husbandry experience

-Genomic sequencing experience (RNAseq, ATACseq, ChIP-Seq)

-Cell, tissue, or embryo culture
