    To strengthen our team inCharleston,

    we are looking for you as a(n)Production Chemical Operator - Physical Analytics.

The Chemical Operator in Physical Analytics performs routine lab testing, equipment operation, and supports the daily functions of the lab. The chemical operator must be highly skilled to support the more advanced tasks in the lab. They will also fill-in as the shift lead or technical operators as needed. This is a 24/7 rotating shift schedule.

Duties include:

  • Control and monitor laboratory and building systems via DCS, PI, manual gauges and instrumentation, reporting or correcting issues as they occur

  • Processing samples for quality analysis, reviewing results, and verifying accuracy

  • Operating equipment (test reactors, float zoners, scrubbers, etc) to support daily lab operation, in the building and outside

  • Perform troubleshooting of equipment as needed

  • Support maintenance activities: reporting issues, supporting work prep, supporting return to service

  • Fill-in as shift lead and perform the required duties

  • Other duties as required

Additional requirements:

  • Be willing and able to fill in as the shift lead when needed

  • Experienced with leading a team

  • Teamwork skills with safety, quality and environmental consciousness required

  • Ability to solve complex problems and make independent decisions in operations and compliance topics

  • Ability for effective communication under pressure (face-to-face, radio/phone, computer)

  • Experienced with control room and equipment operation, with troubleshooting skills

  • Capable of processing samples with required quality handling processes and skills

  • Able to monitor trends and data and determine inconsistencies or issues and act on them

  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment while wearing cleanroom gear for extended periods

  • Be willing to work any shift (including 12-hour shifts and/or rotating shifts) necessary to support a 24/7 operation

  • Be willing to work overtime (including weekends and holidays) if necessary

Qualifications Required:

  • Associate's degree in a technical or mathematical field

  • 3+ years Chemical manufacturing experience

  • Completion of the Chemical Operator program at Chattanooga State Community College (or equivalent program) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
