Job Overview

Jensen Hughes has exciting career opportunities available for Senior Civil/Structural Engineers across our office locations throughout the United States. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Civil/Structural Engineer with a background in forensics, design, and construction.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will grow their career in Forensics and work on a variety of projects in a dynamic environment with multi-disciplined engineers. The position includes both office and field duties. The position requires excellent communications skills and the ability to work cooperatively with a variety of other professionals in the engineering and scientific disciplines. The applicant must be motivated and ready to contribute in any way needed to provide excellent client service and support to the other professionals in the company. This is a full-time opportunity that will provide new challenges, new experiences and a goal-oriented team atmosphere.

Requirements and Qualifications:

License and Certification Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Civil/Structural Engineering

  • Current PE in multiple states

  • Current SE a plus

Work Experience and Additional Requirements

  • 10-25 year’s practical experience in the civil/structural engineering field

  • Forensic experience and/or experience at an engineering consulting firm

  • Analysis and design capabilities with wood, steel, concrete, and masonry

  • Building envelope failure analysis and evaluation

  • Testimonial experience a plus

  • Working with multi-engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, fire, and manufacturing

  • The ability to have a transferable book of business a plus

  • Experience with working with laboratories such as chemistry, metallurgical, concrete, fire, and polymer a plus

  • Extensive field experience to include knowledge of what a design on paper looks like in the field

  • Strong writing skills and ability to produce quality technical reports

  • Capable of simplifying complex topics and relaying verbally and in writing for non-engineering clients

  • Ability to operate independently on both small and large projects

  • Must the ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, squat, bend, reach/work overhead

  • Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions

  • Must be able to carry 50 lbs.

  • Some travel 20-30%. Most would be regional/local trips but some overnight trips also required
