Description

SUMMARY: Monitors usage of all facilities and athletic fields within the parks system; enforces park rules and regulations; and provides information regarding park facilities and related recreational activities. Conducts related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The requirements for this position include, but are not limited to, those outlined below.   • Opens and closes park on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

  • Patrols park on a regular basis.

  • Keeps daily log of park activities; completes reports as required.

  • Ensures correct facility reservations match user groups.

  • Drives and operates light duty vehicles such as a pickup truck or utility cart.

  • Completes custodial duties (i.e., restroom maintenance, trash removal, etc.) as required.

  • Performs infield preparations and athletic field lining when needed.

  • Maintains cancellation line and updates website.

  • Assists park patrons as required.

  • Contacts emergency personnel when needed.

  • Ability to utilize computer for documenting daily tasks and personnel time management.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday

3:30 PM - 11:00 PM (Hours may vary depending on game schedule)

Saturday - Sunday

7:30 AM - 2:30 PM or 12:00 PM - 11:00 PM

*Work schedule may be flexible

Typical Qualifications

Requirements:

EDUCATION: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required upon submission of application.

Driver's License: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. No County employee shall operator a vehicle on County business unless the employee has held a valid Driver's License for a minimum of two (2) years.

EXPERIENCE: Customer service experience preferred.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions in English. Ability to safely use standard hand tools. General knowledge of equipment and materials used in the standard building maintenance trades. Ability to operate automotive and light duty equipment used in grounds maintenance activities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and communicate well with general public. Ability to handle diverse situations in a courteous and dependable manner. Good judgement is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Current certification in child and adult standard First Aid and CPR or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Good physical condition. Requires regular physical effort including but not limited to walking, talking, writing, typing, stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, climbing, balancing, lifting, pushing and pulling, sitting, gripping. Working and lifting with equipment and materials over 60 pounds is common.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Indoor and outdoor work is conducted in variable weather conditions. Exposed to high or low temperatures, humid conditions, and other unfavorable conditions.
