Federal Acquisition Service Lead Transportation Specialist in United States

Summary As a Lead Transportation Specialist, you will be responsible for leading a team of administrative employees who perform quality and cost effectiveness studies of transportation audit programs. This position is located in the Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Office of Travel, Motor Vehicle, and Card Services (QM), Office of Travel and Transportation Services (QMC), Transportation Audits Division (QMCA). We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed. Responsibilities As a Lead Transportation Specialist, you will: - Lead the team in identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks among employees with established work flow, skill level and/or occupational specialization; make adjustments to accomplish workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks; and ensure each employee has an integral role in developing the final team product. - Provide advice, counsel and instruction to individual team members on both technical and administrative matters. - Ensure that the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team’s strategies, goals, objective, work plans and work products and services. - Monitor and report on the status and progress of work, check on work in progress and review completed work to see that the supervisor’s instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines and quality have been met. - Articulate and communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience in executing transportation related procedures and providing technical guidance and direction on the audit and review of transportation charges and services for a Transportation Program. Such experience must include: •verifying transportation services and charges •conducting audits and reviews; •providing technical guidance and direction on policy and procedures; •receiving, processing, and monitoring the flow of carrier claims; and •responding to carrier or customer questions, complaints, and requests Education Additional Information Bargaining Unit status: Not eligible Relocation-related expenses are not approved and will be your responsibility.
