IMC Construction Junior Estimator in United States

Essential Functions:

• Assist the Estimator and Senior Estimator in preparation of detailed estimates (conceptual, schematic, design development, construction).

• Prepare for review detailed estimates (conceptual, schematic, design development, construction).

• Assist with the preparation of special conditions, insurance and bonds.

• Analyze cost models during the Design Development and/or bidding period.

• Ensure that work is accurate, complete and reflects the actual requirements of the project; assuring that there are an adequate number of qualified and financially sound subcontractor proposals received and evaluated.

• Attend the preconstruction strategy meeting on the approach to the project or estimate.

• Arrange and attend site visits and walk through with subcontractors

• Assist with identification of potential risk factors to be evaluated and reviewed with senior management (i.e. Peer Review, if required, contract bond authorization, contract review, insurance review, etc).

• Assist with trade scopes of work, obtain bids from subcontractors and material vendors, and analyze bids from subcontractors and material vendors.

• Assist with the assembly of the preconstruction materials for presentation purposes to the Owner (i.e. Design Development estimates or Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Reports, etc).

• Assist with coordination of Production Department on preliminary construction schedule.

• Identify and qualify new material suppliers and subcontractors and place into subcontractor database.

• Identify new work opportunities and inform Sales and Marketing of potential projects with current clients.

Qualifications/Required Experience:

• Preferred 4-year degree in an accredited construction related curriculum, (BSCE, BSCM, BSAE, etc) or experience equivalent to a 4-year degree.

• Two to four years estimating experience or a similar construction position.

• Demonstrated competency in the following areas: estimating, budgeting/cost control, financial reporting, interpersonal skills, computer skills, ability to communicate, both written and oral, leadership and organizational skills.

• Demonstrated success in managing or potential to manage preconstruction process for projects.

• Preferred knowledge in PC-based spreadsheet, construction and design software applications. (Excel, BlueBeam, Procore, SiteOps, Revit, AutoCAD, Assemble, etc).

• LEED background a plus
