Glimpse of the Job 

The IT Business Analyst I support accounts receivable processes for the student information system -Banner - which allows students to apply for admission, register for classes, receive financial aid, and complete student billing/payments. This position works with departmental team members, Student Business Services , and the campus community to successfully implement and maintain enhancements, upgrades, and patches to the student information system, portal, and other supported applications. Researches and resolves business process challenges providing custom solutions for reports and automation.

  • Using SQL pulls data from the database to create reconcilable reports and balance financial transactions  

  • Write requirements documentation/specifications to assist developer in writing code and develop end user documentation  

  • Develops testing plans to ensure upgrades and patches are ready for production and for internal customizations    

    Salary Range: $42,511.00 - $49,712.00

    Location: The selected candidate will be expected to work onsite in College Station, Texas.    

       

    Qualifications   

    Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience AND f our months (1 semester) of student worker and/or customer service experience.

  • Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment and cooperate with others. 

  • Organizational abilities to include setting goals, plans, and priorities to achieve results preferred.   

  • Ability to complete tasks on schedule and within budget preferred.   

  • Ability to effectively lead, encourage, build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members preferred

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience designing, analyzing, or implementing business processes.

  • Experience using or supporting Ellucian’s Banner or other student information systems or enterprise level applications.

  • Experience using SQL Developer to write SQL statements to query a database.

  • Experience working at an Institution of Higher Education (IHE) in or supporting one of the following areas: admissions, advising, registrar / academic records, graduate studies / graduate school, Accounts Receivable, or Financial Aid.

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), ITIL Foundations

  • Ability to read, write and understand PL/SQL.    

  • Good understanding of higher education student information system business processes and university operations preferred.
