Position Description

The Cage Shift Supervisor assists in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Cage Department and provides excellent Guest Services. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.

Position Requirements

Education/Experience:

  1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.

  2. High school diploma or equivalent required.

  3. Two (2) years of successful experience being responsible for large sums of money and/or one (1) year of successful casino cage cashier experience (or any combination thereof) required.

  4. Two (2) years of successful supervisory experience preferred.

  5. Six (6) months experience in all cage banks preferred.

  6. Effective math skills are required; applicants may be required to pass an SGC-administered math skills test.

  7. Must be able to operate office equipment, including a 10-key adding machine, personal computer, telephone, multi-function photocopier.

  8. One (1) year previous customer service experience preferred.

    Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:

  9. Must possess excellent communication skills.

  10. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, team members and guests.

  11. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and team members.

  12. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.

  13. Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.

  14. Must be able to withstand working in a casino environment, which may include exposure to loud noises, bright and flashing lights, and cigarette/cigar smoke.

  15. Continuously bend/stoop, squat, balance, kneel, lift and push/pull.

  16. Continuously carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

  17. Occasionally climb heights and reach above shoulder level.

  18. Occasionally push carts weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.

  19. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with guests, management, team members, and members of the business community in all situations.
