Generally speaking, this role is responsible for ensuring the installation of all finishing aspects that make a building functional to process volume for our customers. We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager who can drive project execution, standardization and process improvement. Critical to this role is the ability to build partnerships and lead through influence with contractors, installation vendors, construction and engineering teams along with other stakeholders to meet project milestones. You collaborate with all project teams to meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You support program initiative goals by delivering projects of varying complexity. Projects may overlap into different regions and may require you to travel across applicable regions for this role. The amount of travel may vary based on the project type and the time of the year. The ability to travel is needed throughout the year and should be expected to reach up to 80% at peak times to support our customers. Key competencies of this position include controllership to ensure your contracted resources deliver work on time and within safety, quality and budget requirements. Additionally, you may be asked to participate in process improvement initiatives. This opportunity combines project management, process improvement, vendor and contractor management. This role can be remote or office-based when you are not traveling.

Key job responsibilities

• Own a project from the kickoff and mobilization to deploying items for testing; coordinating execution activities through project closure.

• Receive, track, and deploy the standard bill of materials required for the end user, to safely operate building spaces after the building/project launches. These items can include but are not limited to: equipment, tables, chairs, desks, 5S labeling, interior wayfinding signage, trailer truck yard safety, jam clearing equipment for material handling, racking, maintenance tools, powered industrial trucks (PIT), food and beverage vending, office cubicles and audio/visual equipment. • Assess issues that may impede a successful project handover to Amazon stakeholders and escalate through leadership, proposing actionable resolutions.

• Coordinate and control Operational Readiness Testing (ORT) for a turn-key solution, ensuring highest levels of Associate readiness.

• Coordinate with external project managers to support execution in the field, monitoring project activities regardless of ownership.

• Deliver on a budget for operational improvements to finishes, furnishings and equipment, employing frugality throughout.

• Travel up to 80% across various regions with a valid driver license

A day in the life

Each day you represent TES (Transportation Engineering Services) in managing projects that vary in complexity, time and budget. You own projects from kick-off to close-out while also supporting program level initiatives to better the organization. You are expected to work at pace with high levels of ambiguity and with oversight from a regional program manager, whilst demonstrating ownership throughout the project life cycle. You lead by influencing stakeholders through a project cadence of business meetings, site visits and technical discussions. You are expected to physically be on site to meet project goals and roll up your sleeves with a Bias for Action to get things done and support project execution. Your scope is dependent on upstream partners such as construction engineering and design teams. You execute your scope in a construction environment. Daily tasks include coordination with vendors and contractors, removing barriers to local and high-level milestones, working across teams, communicating through leadership project status and risk, using internal and external software and driving results.
