Signature Aviation Area Manager, Accounting in United States

As the Area Accounting Manager for Signature Aviation, you will play an integral role in providing Accounting and related support to FBO locations within a certain area. Your responsibilities will encompass various accounting functions crucial to managing risk, controls, and compliance, including the oversight of daily activity and leadership of local Accounting Associates.

Honolulu Location

  • Ensure internal controls and compliance are maintained across local FBOs

  • Provide audit support to FBOs, including internal and company audits and external audits as required by customers and/or government agencies

  • Supporting FBOs in meeting financial reporting requirements

  • Provide supervision of daily FBO accounting activity, including ensuring that local Accounting Associates are completing the required duties accurately and in compliance with any local deadlines.

  • Coordinate with Accounting Shared Services to support information flow between local Accounting Associates and Shared Services teams; provide support to resolve related issues and/or escalate as appropriate.

  • Accountable for overseeing business-critical accounting activity at FBOs, including receiving and entering fuel tickets. This may involve coordinating with Accounting Shared Services to resolve any related issues.

  • Support the relationship with Accounting Shared Services by providing input to resolve queries/issues.

  • Support PTP (purchase to pay) process, including processing receipts in AS 400 for bases with no fuel clerk

  • Support OTC (order to cash) process, including working with GMs for price changes

  • Provide support for Field Support Center for general accounting

  • Provide support to Field Support Center for planning, budgeting, and forecasting requests

  • Provide support for ad-hoc requests to support accounting functions from the Field Support Center

  • Perform month-end activity required at the Area level – including data submission, narratives, and reconciliation

  • Review price changes with GMs and obtain approvals where required

  • Ad-hoc review fixed asset purchases

  • Perform a lead role in maintaining controls and compliance across local FBOs, maintaining awareness of current policies as set by the Field Support Center (HQ), and ensuring FBO leadership is aware of policies and of any steps required to maintain compliance.

  • Provide single point-of-contact for FBO leadership on accounting-related matters and work with relevant Regional Accounting Managers to ensure a “360” understanding of local FBO accountings.

  • Support the Regional Accounting Manager in scheduling audits and responding to any internal, company, or external audit-related queries.

  • Provide leadership to local Accounting Associates, including training, mentoring, and coaching of new and existing staff; and support the Regional Accounting Manager in recruiting and identifying future accounting leaders.

Supervisor and/or Financial Responsibilities:

  • Supervise local accounting staff, conducting regular appraisals, feedback, and training for staff

  • Recruit new Team Members as required

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, accounting, or a related field; CPA is preferred.

  • Proven experience (4+ years) in accounting or accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Additional knowledge and skills:

  • Aviation industry experience preferred.

  • Solid understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.

  • Experience in the aviation industry or related field is a strong plus.

  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., AIS, FMS, Oracle) and MS Excel.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform independently and as part of a team

Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors, including, without limitation, skill sets, education, shift worked, responsibilities, seniority, geographical market, merit, output, productivity, prior training or experience, and travel. The pay range for this position is $68,300-85,500 plus bonus.
