IHG Assistant Human Resources Manager in Singapore

Join us as an Assistant Human Resources Manager in Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre. You’ll have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills. Because, for this vital role, we’re looking for someone who can:
FINANCIAL RETURNS
Assist in the creation of and work within the established Human Resources department budget and control expenses
Monitor staffing to manage costs
Monitor and negotiate in the renewal of contracts/agreements with external parties
PEOPLE
Create programmes to foster a positive work environment for all employees. Support and administer employee satisfaction surveys
Educate and train managers on progressive discipline processes in accordance with hotel or company policies including progressive disciplinary process, performance management process, and related programs to foster productivity, and enhance performance
Conduct new team member orientation providing information on hotel or company standards, policies, procedures, rules and team member benefit programs
Oversee maintenance of accurate and up-to-date personnel files and records for all employees
Ensure hotel or company hiring standards and applicable laws and regulations are followed in a timely manner for recruiting and selection processes. Build relations with outside contacts
Analyse hotel manpower requirements and recommend selection and development activities to meet those requirements
Oversee employee welfare such as lockers, accommodation for foreign workers/trainees and employee cafeteria
Assist in recruitment of qualified hotel staff and trainees
Assist in planning employee training and maintaining training records
GUEST EXPERIENCE
Develop creative ways to inspire and motivate team members to provide guests with a unique experience
Build relationships with department heads to understand how team members can increase guest satisfaction
Work with department heads to develop initiatives to reach service standards and drive continuous improvement in the guest experience
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community and promote team member involvement in local community
Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and hotel or company policies and procedures. Conduct annual HR compliance/standards self-audit
Research and investigate all workplace issues to discover facts, identify potential risks to the hotel or company, and facilitate resolution through your employee relations programs. Escalate serious issues in a timely manner
Collect and maintain data from exit interviews, turnover statistics, absenteeism reports to identify trends, training needs, and supervisory issues
Demonstrate Awareness of Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities (OH&S) policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines
Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures
Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly
Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers
Support the hotel’s corporate responsibility initiatives in the areas of community involvement, environment management, workplace health & safety and food safety, drive action plans as required to achieve hotel corporate responsibility objectives
