BASIC FUNCTION
Under the general guidance of the Sanimex Finance Director, this position is responsible for all State and Federal tax filings for the Mexican side of the Sanimex and Reynosa entities and their respective operations. Both entities operate under IMMEX programs. Tax filings include Income Tax, Payroll State Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax, Social Security, and Housing Fund, along with miscellaneous others. Also responsible for closing of month end books for Sanimex and Reynosa, calculation of mark up profit. This position ideally serves as a backup to the Controller positions when the both the Reynosa and Sanimex Controllers are out of the plants.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the preparation and calculation of monthly, semiannual, and yearly State and Federal tax filings for both, Reynosa and Sanimex.
Responsible for the creation of the monthly Income Statement and Balance Sheet for Reynosa and Sanimex and for the other reports that must be sent to Wisconsin for the month end close.
Responsible for determination and assisting in recovery of tax balances as well as the revision of tax compensation. This includes the preparation and monitoring of filings for VAT refunds, addressing any inquiries from authorities related to these requests.
Acts as a resource for assisting the junior members of the Accounting staff at Sanimex and Reynosa.
Calculation and preparation of fiscal schedules and annual taxes for Reynosa and Sanimex.
Creation of accruals.
Along with the Finance Director, responsible for understanding Mexican tax law changes, especially those related to IMMEX companies and insuring that the accounting for the Sanimex and Reynosa operations is performed in accordance with rules and regulations.
Responsible for working with and providing information to Sanimex and Reynosa external auditors.
Process fiscal memorandum for both Reynosa and Sanimex.
Responsible for assisting the Finance leaders of Reynosa and Sanimex with the processing and preparation of the yearly reporting package to Wisconsin.
Bank reconciliation reviews.
Responsible for mark up and profit sharing calculations for Reynosa and Sanimex.
Analysis of the different governmental institution accounts (IMSS, SAR, SAT, State, etc.) to determine payment of each for Reynosa and Sanimex.
Responsible for preparation and submitting of Electronic accounting reports to the tax authorities on monthly basis for Reynosa and Sanimex.
Revision of tax withholdings over employees’ special payroll payments (profit sharing and Christmas bonus), annual adjustment calculation and annual tax.
Assist the Mexican legal entities (Sanimex, Reynosa and KTMX) with the tax withholdings payments of expats.
Accountable for the renewal of IMMEX certifications and all required filings.
Participating in and addressing any governmental audits.
Other special projects as assigned or initiated.
Skills/Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting with extensive experience in IMMEX companies, including at least 5 years in a comparable role. Mexican laws knowledge, familiar with Import/Export activities, US and Mexican GAAP, cost and financial accounting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
