Senior Director Performance Excellence

A micus Therapeutics is a global, patient-dedicated biotechnology company focused on discovering, developing, and delivering high-quality medicines for people living with rare metabolic diseases.

Position Summary

· The Senior Director of Performance Excellence is responsible for developing and implementing a holistic performance excellence program to enhance operational efficiency, identify and resolve operational challenges and support maturing our operating capabilities. The Senior Director of Performance Excellence will work closely with the technical operations leadership team and key stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous improvement. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in biopharma/pharma manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and quality focus.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement a program to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the organisation

· Work closely with key stakeholders across External Manufacturing Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, and Regulatory to identify opportunities for improvement, prioritize projects, and develop and implement solutions.

· Support the deployment of strategic goals working closely with cross functional teams to measure performance and drive core objectives.

· Develop a long-term continuous improvement roadmap linked to the strategic business objectives.

· Use the performance excellence principles and tools to analyze processes, identify root causes, and develop and implement solutions.

· Develop a performance excellence toolkit for the global technical operations team.

· Work cross functionally to ensure that continuous improvement initiatives are aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the organisation.

· Measure and report on the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives, including the impact on key performance indicators such as cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.

· Instill a continuous improvement culture within the organisation to ensure the reliable and compliant manufacture and supply of products to our patients.

· Ensure the sharing and adoption of best practices across Amicus.

· Support business leaders in establishing and maintaining metrics for tracking our performance.

· Provide coaching and training for continuous improvement activities.

· Participate in routine program updates with site leadership team.

· Drive initiatives for process optimization, technology implementation and best practices.

Requirements

Educational Requirements

· Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering or Sciences

· Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Blackbelt)

Professional Work Experience Requirements

· 15+ years experience in pharmaceutical and/or biopharmaceutical manufacturing of drug substance, with a strong understanding of GMP and regulatory compliance.

· Strong analytical skills and experience using lean Six Sigma, or similar tools and techniques

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

· Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results on time and on budget.

· Knowledge of financial concepts and techniques used to establish value propositions of operational changes

Experience and Skills

· A passion for helping patients with rare diseases

· A strong moral compass and clear alignment with Amicus Core Values

· Strong background in lean Six Sigma and a proven track record of implementing successful continuous improvement initiatives in the pharmaceutical industry.

· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence the direction and completion of goals without having a formal leadership role.

· Able to act operationally, tactically, and strategically, to implement Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement programs.

· Ability to influence Global stakeholders and internal and external subject matter experts.

· Excellent analytical and critical thinking, demonstrating ability to analyze and solve problems.

· Autonomy, self-motivation and efficiency, with an appropriate sense of urgency in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

· Experience managing complex projects, leading cross-cultural teams.

· Strong verbal and written skills with ability to explain complex, challenging topics clearly and persuasively at all levels of the organisation.

Location

· Ireland or UK.

Travel

· Travel to CMO’s may be required to meet business needs. Approx. 20% travel.
