Role Value Proposition:

The Risk function within MetLife helps the organization to identify, aggregate, measure, report and manage risks across the company. It is led by the Chief Risk Officer (‘CRO’), with a Central Team (in Dublin), and local teams operating in the branches across Europe. Central teams are responsible for Enterprise Risk Management and Risk Analytics, Governance and Reporting while the local teams focus on operational and business risks.

This role is to lead risk governance and reporting for the legal entities regulated in Dublin, reporting to the CRO. You will work collaboratively across Risk, Compliance, Audit, Company Secretariat and the Executive team, to ensure we meet very high regulatory and Board expectations. You will have a keen interest in corporate governance, be diligent, organized and flexible, with excellent communication and inter-personal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To manage the regular risk reporting cycle to senior stakeholders and develop it continuously to strengthen risk insight and process efficiency.

  • Organising, attending at, and preparing / reviewing the minutes of risk committee meetings.

  • Maintaining a schedule of agenda items and action logs for the risk committees and following up with responsible executives to ensure that the corporate governance requirements are met for the supported MetLife entities.

  • To maintain the risk policy suite, including coordinating the annual policy review process.

  • Providing appropriate governance and risk reporting information for external disclosure.

  • To support the CRO in coordinating aspects of the ORSA process, and developing the Risk Management Framework, including responding to regulatory requests.

  • To provide support to the Europe Chief Compliance Officer to prepare for the MetLife Europe governance week reporting cycle.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 3+ years financial services experience

  • Strong interest in / knowledge of corporate governance

  • Strong Microsoft Office capabilities (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Excellent organization skills and detail-oriented; strong project management skills

  • Excellent verbal and document creation / business writing skills

  • Ability to coordinate across lines of business and organizations to influence and challenge

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

  • Company Secretariat / Legal / Risk / Audit / Compliance background

  • A broad understanding of Life & Pensions products; strong business acumen
