If you are passionate about data analysis, technical research and providing technical advice on decarbonisation actions, this is an exciting opportunity to grow in a rapidly expanding team.

The role will focus on the delivery of our advisory work on Net Zero, decarbonisation, energy efficiency and sustainability projects in the private and public sector.

In addition to the support to our clients, WSP UK has committed to halve the carbon footprint of our designs and advice by 2030 and will achieve carbon neutrality in our own UK operations by 2025. Both targets are in line with global goals to limit climate change to 1.5°C. We’re proud to be the first company in our sector to make such ambitious commitments to limit the effects of climate change.

  • Analysing energy data of buildings, assets and operations to assess performance and creating numerical models for energy profiling.

  • Undertaking energy and net zero site audits of commercial, retail, healthcare or industrial facilities.

  • Supporting the delivery of ESOS assessments.

  • Developing energy and carbon saving recommendations, scenarios and pathways based on a number of interventions that can be feasibly implemented.

  • Writing up technical and strategic reports for clients.

  • Contributing to feasibility and advisory studies related to energy efficiency, low carbon HVAC, low-carbon heat and on-site renewables.

  • Contributing to the team delivery of wider energy efficiency, Net Zero and sustainability projects.

  • Have a degree in a technical discipline related to energy engineering, building services or similar (engineering preferred).

  • Have a proactive and problem solving approach to technical challenges.

  • Have some technical knowledge of building services, HVAC equipment and low-carbon technologies.

  • Have an understanding of the main UK/EU decarbonisation policies, trends and the state of the art of key decarbonisation technologies.

  • Are available to travel nationally to clients’ sites.
