Interface with joint venture engineering activities as required to lead vehicle diagnostic information
Validate diagnostic content and data on prototype vehicles for launch
Support design requirements to service tool development team to ensure diagnostics meet the needs of dealership technicians
Ensure dealership service tool accuracy for China joint venture vehicles within the International Markets Group (IMG) region
Interface with workshop manual team to align with diagnostic content
Identify and Report program status for each program/field issue back to IMG region
Assist the Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) coordinators to ensure the accuracy of diagnostic tool information contained in publications
Support the Technical Hotline with vehicle diagnostic concerns for the assigned vehicle lines
Track and/or identify and direct resolution of field issues; collect and analyze field reports
Liaison to technical literature creation with Diagnostic and Service Products (DSP) and Product Development (PD) Engineers for joint preparation of technical literature (i.e., TSB’s, GSB’s, FSA’s) required to support field communication
Support the markets use of the Hotline Assistance Requests (HAR), Technical Assistance Requests (TAR) and work with Field Service Engineers (FSE) and Customer Service Engineering (CSE) Specialists where applicable for timely concern resolution
Coordinate or support technical meetings and status updates on vehicle launch deliverables
Key Selection Criteria
Ability to perform job tasks without daily supervision
Requires frequent cross-country communication of tasks and efforts to enable distributed IMG team members to work together effectively as a team.
Previous experience/roles within service engineering will be advantageous
Familiarity with Dealer Service operations will be advantageous
Candidate Specification
Hold a tertiary qualification in Engineering or a Trade qualification with more than 3 years experience within the motor vehicle manufacture or service industry
Vehicle inter-module communication knowledge is critical to success
Use and understanding of vehicle bus communication monitoring software and analysis will be highly valued
Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic methods and practice
Broad vehicle systems knowledge across all/multiple vehicle areas including Powertrain, Chassis, Body and Electrical/Software systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Above average proficiency with MS Office products (PowerPoint, Excel)
