Ford Motor Company Color & Material Program Management Specialist in China

As a Color & Material Design PM (Program Management) Engineer , you will have the opportunity to help define product vision and support the roadmap for emerging design trends. This includes coordinating project activities, resources, and collaborating with regional engineering and design teams to develop product strategy. This position will work closely with cross functional stakeholders (engineering, program teams, purchasing, manufacturing, and suppliers) to communicate design intent and complete projects. Ideal candidate has spent time as a Program or Business Project Manager.

  • Lead definition of Color & Material Design Intent

  • Represent Design in Colour Harmony and Program Appearance Forums

  • Support definition and updates of the Color Harmony Process

  • Translate Color & Material Design Strategy into tactical actions

  • Manage and Establish Colour & Material Content and Complexity to Program Targets

  • Manage Color & Material Design Cost and Program Targets

  • Establish consensus among programs, finance, planning, manufacturing, marketing, and PD

  • Co-Ordinate Delivery and Timing of Color & Material Design Milestones

  • Liaise with stakeholders to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives for future programs – Pre

  • Co-Lead with Studio PM agenda planning Part II and Senior Management Reviews

  • Prepare meeting agendas

  • Conduct effective meetings

  • Prepare technical and non-technical reports

  • Summarize/synthesize complex analyses into simple terms

  • Develop and track project timing plans

  • Support TVM actions from idea generation through design implementation

  • Prepare budget requirements and manage headcount modules

  • Participate in management design reviews

  • Perform competitor analysis to benchmark and provide guidance to design leadership

  • Identify impact of changes in design development cycle - GPDS

  • Provide guidance to Cross-Functional partners on Colour & Materials processes

  • Manage procurement requirements for Colour & Materials Design supplies

  • Manage facility projects for Colour & Materials

  • Other administrative duties as required

  • 10 years of relevant project management work experience

  • PMP Certification

  • MBA or related field or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong desire to work with technical and non-technical audiences

  • Level 3 proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel

  • Level 2 proficiency in SharePoint, Access, and Visio

  • Working knowledge of

  • Integrator

  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced ever-changing work environment

  • Strong background in product development and design

  • A detailed understanding of the design creation process

  • Ability to understand design concepts and think conceptually

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
