Central States Manufacturing Structural Steel Detailer in Villa Rica, Georgia
Description
The Structural Steel Detailer is responsible for the quality and timeliness of field use and fabrication drawings used for hot-rolled steel members on projects. The Structural Steel Detailer will be based out of our Villa Rica office.
Specific responsibilities include:
Development of Erection Drawings
Development of part details used for fabrication
Modeling of structural steel members and connections using computer software
Review and checking of contracted third-party steel detailers for accuracy and completeness
Coordination with other divisions/departments to provide clarity regarding the structural steel conditions
Review of existing contract documents for conflicts
Completing redlines as provided by the Structural Steel Coordinator.
Any ad hoc requirements to support the Structural Steel Coordinator.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
High School Diploma or equivalent
Post-secondary education preferred in drafting, computer-aided design, or related field
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of (5) years of experience in drafting and detailing of structural steel.
Knowledge of model-based drafting/detailing programs such as Tekla, SDS2, etc.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge of construction business practices.
Excellent command of drafting tools, concepts, and techniques
Strong organizational and follow-up skills
Ability to investigate problems or potential problems to avoid reoccurrence.
Ability to establish short-term and long-term plans to meet future needs.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to communicate at numerous levels internal and external to the company.
Excellence in oral and written communication in English.

Able to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to handle, or feel.
Able to work at a computer station for up to 8 hours per day.
