Boehringer Ingelheim Postdoctoral Scientist Biotherapeutics Discovery/Cancer Research - 3 years in Vienna, Austria
The position
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and creative postdoctoral scientist to join the group of Biotherapeutics Discovery at Boehringer Ingelheim RCV. Embedded in a multidisciplinary environment and you will work in close collaboration with the department of Cancer Research at Boehringer Ingelheim RCV. Focus of the research project is to evaluate and optimize TCR mimic T cell engager in particular regarding specificity and HLA cross-reactivity. You will have access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities and a collaborative and cross functional environment. While pursuing a basic research project in the lab, you will be exposed to several aspects of antibody discovery and engineering during your Postdoc.

Tasks & responsibilities
Full responsibility for a research project.
Perform discovery and engineering of biotherapeutics and profile their biophysical properties and functions.
Work closely with multidisciplinary team with members from various scientific backgrounds and in close international collaboration with senior scientists and PostDocs
Actively support method development and optimization within BI and at collaboration partners and provide scientific and conceptual input
Publish scientific results in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present data at international conferences
Requirements
PhD with strong background in biochemistry, protein engineering, cancer biology or a related relevant discipline
Practice and knowledge in protein chemistry, antibody discovery & technology, cell biology, and/or molecular biology is a plus
Hands-on experience in engineering, expression, purification and characterization of proteins as well as expertise in cellular assays
Evidence of scientific rigor and excellence as documented by peer-reviewed publications
Creative thinking, organized and self-motivated to innovate
Excellent communication, networking and presentation skills
Fluent oral and written communication skills in English
About Boehringer Ingelheim’s Postdoc Programme
The initial appointment is for 3 years fixed term contract with potential for a 1 year extension

The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective bargaining agreement for this position is EUR 58.199,96 (full time). For the actual salary the industry benchmark as well as your qualifications and experiences are taken into consideration.
