Job Title: Stores Attendant-B
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Stores Attendant-B to join our team at the Victoria Service Center. The successful candidate will have experience with inventory management and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and Word, with a willingness to learn other programs. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, and some local travel.
Responsibilities
Issue material under proper authorization process and file required records, including picking up, hauling, and delivering materials.
Check received material for quantity, make visual inspection for identity, breakage, and condition, and process material receipt and related records.
Report irregularities and abnormal conditions.
Identify, sort, and record material returned; place usable material in stock and sort non-usable material into scrap containers.
Operate computer terminals and printers supporting a materials management system and other office equipment such as calculators and scanners.
Prepare and pack material for shipment or storage, including preparation of required shipping papers and other related records.
Operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks, forklift trucks, low lift trucks, hoists, overhead cranes, and order pickers.
Assist supervisor with maintaining efficient storage of materials, rearrangement of bins and racks, and making material location changes.
Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels based on current requirements through inventory cycle counts and perform discrepancy adjustments with appropriate approval.
Assist employees of equal or higher classification and perform similar or less skilled work as required.
Perform duties in accordance with company safety rules, operating regulations, and practice.
Essential Skills
High School Diploma or GED.
A minimum of one year work experience in inventory control and management, material handling, or warehousing.
Basic computer skills to use inventory management software such as Maximo.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to perform basic math functions.
Good communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and successful completion of the Physical Ability Test (PAT).
Possession of appropriate State driver's license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with heavy equipment operation such as Case 821 Wheelloader, JLG Telehandler, and other material handling equipment.
Knowledge of logistics related to shipping and relocating inventory.
Experience in construction preferred.
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required within six months of entry into the job classification if needed.

Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 4 pm, with overtime as needed. The role involves working in both indoor and outdoor environments, including in heat and inclement weather conditions. The dress code requires steel toe boots, jeans or long pants, and a t-shirt without inappropriate words or pictures. All other PPE is provided. Employees who wear glasses must provide their own side shields. Some local travel may be required, and AEP vehicles may be driven, necessitating a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

This is a Contract position based out of Victoria, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
