The selected candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers and clients. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions as well as procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables, and able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or other forms. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.What we expect… (Essential Functions)Supports Field Management in daily operations of project sites by supervising a crew that operates heavy and light equipment to grade sites and install storm drainage for site development.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.- Study blueprints, sketches or building plans to determine type of construction, tools needed, materials and labor, etc.- Assist in planning manpower needs, work schedules, material needs and schedules, etc.- Direct day-to-day work activities of crew members- Train and develop others to meet the safety requirements of OSHA and the company- Conduct weekly Tool Box safety talks with crew members and complete daily STARRT cards- Maintain and service equipment to make sure that safe operating procedures are used in handling heavy equipment and materials- Require daily inspections of equipment per company checklist to ensure safe operating conditions and tag out any equipment that is not in safe operating condition- Ensure operators are qualified and have had appropriate training for equipment that they are operating- Enforce compliance with PPE and company safety regulations and report any violation to Superintendent and Safety Manager- Ensure work areas are maintained in a neat, safe and orderly fashion- Ensure that team members respect company’s, client’s and subcontractor’s property- Requisition and inventory necessary tools, supplies and equipment- Ensure tool, materials and equipment are cared and accounted for- Ensure that work is performed in accordance with the industry and company standards- Other duties may be assignedPhysical Demands & Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibrations. Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud. Overtime may be required.
