Description We are offering an opportunity for an Audit Manager to join our team in the telecom industry. Based in Ventura, California, the successful candidate will manage compliance functions related to affordable property portfolios. This role involves tracking the annual recertification process, conducting audits, reviewing tenant files for eligibility, and providing compliance training to staff.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the annual recertification process at each property to ensure timely completion.

• Review weekly reports to assess progress of annual recertification.

• Identify and communicate any inconsistencies to the Regional Property Supervisors and the Director of Property Management.

• Conduct audits of resident files in preparation for State, County, City, and Federal audits and inspections.

• Review and approve all tenants' files for eligibility, including move-ins, first year recertification, annual recertifications, unit transfers, and interim files.

• Assist and implement Compliance training to the Property Management staff.

• Ensure staff compliance with regulatory requirements relating to the set-up and ongoing maintenance of resident files and general project compliance.

• Assist in the completion of monthly submission of the USDA-RD rents.

• Assist the Property Management management staff with Rent Café and YARDI.

• Ensure that the department collects, summarizes, and distributes Maximum Income Limits and Maximum Rent Limits for each funding source on an annual basis.

• Responsible for entering new rents into YARDI for all properties.

• Attend monthly Property Management meetings to review and report on compliance issues.

This role requires proficiency in a variety of software systems including 3M, CaseWare, and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning. The successful candidate will also have a strong understanding of accounting functions and auditing, as well as experience with HUD and Yardi. Requirements • Proven experience in the role of Audit Manager in a public setting

• Proficiency in 3M and Accounting Software Systems

• Demonstrable experience with Audit Program and CaseWare

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions and Audit Engagements

• Solid skills in Auditing and Compliance

• Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements

• Knowledge of HUD and Yardi systems

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

• A detail oriented certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) would be advantageous

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial reporting software.
