Robert Half Purchasing & AP Specialist in Vancouver, Washington
Description
We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Purchasing & AP Specialist in the manufacturing industry based in Vancouver, Washington. As a Purchasing & AP Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the Purchasing Manager in procurement activities and the Accounts Payable Lead in maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities:
• Assisting in daily procurement activities, ensuring efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services needed for operations
• Coordinating with operations, vendors, tracking purchase orders and inventory shipments, and assisting in supplier negotiations
• Supporting the accounting department by reconciling purchases, inventory, and maintaining precise financial records
• Reviewing goods and service purchase requests, bid proposals, and contracts to obtain necessary product or service information such as price, availability, delivery, manufacturing, and/or rolling delivery schedules
• Maintaining precise procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance of services, and inventory levels
• Discussing defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality control personnel, internal users, vendors, to determine the source of trouble and taking corrective action, as necessary
• Ensuring purchasing activities comply with company policies, regulations, and budget constraints
• Verifying and processing purchase invoices, ensuring accurate coding and matching of purchase orders, reconciliation, and resolution of discrepancies
• Inputting financial data into existing ERP systems and maintaining organized records of transactions, invoices, and purchase orders for financial reporting and audit purposes
• Assisting in the monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory audit and cycle count process.
Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Purchasing role
• Proficiency in ERP required
• Demonstrated expertise in managing Accounts Payable
• Familiarity with buying processes, preferably within the manufacturing sector
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain detail oriented relationships with suppliers and contractors
• Knowledge of construction materials and equipment is a plus
• Must be a team player, with the ability to also work independently when required
