Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Senior Product Manager to be part of the Vancouver-based Application Integration Group growing AWS Step Functions and Amazon EventBridge.
AWS Step Functions and Amazon EventBridge are changing the way that developers build distributed applications in the cloud. We are the lines between the boxes in a Serverless application, making it easier to integrate next generation cloud applications.

As a Senior product manager, you will be a critical part of the PM organization that owns the business model and P&L, feature development and prioritization of the product roadmap, customer segmentation and pricing, and demand generation for impactful new products. You will work across engineering, business development, and marketing leads to set strategy, define the product, and make the difficult, high-judgment trade-offs between features and time-to-market. You will partner with the technical leaders of the organization to ensure the programming model, scalability and reliability promises, and developer experience delight our customers. As one of the team leaders, you will play a key role in hiring additional team members the team, and help set the vision, values, and culture of this business. Further responsibilities include:
Author documents relating to product life cycle including product roadmap, business requirements and functional specifications.
Drive product development across teams (primarily Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Business Development, and Marketing) through business requirements, design, implementation, and deployment.
Work collaboratively with Engineering as an advocate for the needs of our customers
Evaluate industry innovations and technology platforms and identify partnership and collaboration opportunities
Engage directly with customers to understand their needs and learn what we can build to enable and delight our customers
What does it take to succeed in this role? Excitement in finding new ways to help a developer do things more efficiently or faster. A deep empathy for developer challenges, balanced with a strategic understanding of business objectives and a creative and inventive mindset to help define what we build. Demonstrated experience leading developer facing platform efforts, and a strong technical background with familiarity with large scale systems. Exceptional communication skills to manage the large degree of external interaction with customers and partners the role needs.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of technical product management with internet business experience
5+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience
3+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience
Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market
Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies

The base salary for this position ranges from $135,700/year up to $226,500/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
