Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team for a significant expansion project at a major hospital in Vancouver. This project, which includes a nearly 2-billion dollar rebuild and the development of a world-class life sciences research facility, presents a unique opportunity to work on one of the largest and most prestigious construction projects in the Lower Mainland.

Shift

  • Monday - Friday morning shift

Pay

  • $48.20/hour

  • Increasing to $50.37 May 1st

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components in a commercial and institutional setting.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.

  • Perform conduit bending and wiring tasks.

  • Pull wire and run conduit efficiently and safely.

  • Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes and standards.

  • Collaborate with other trades and contractors on-site to complete the project successfully.

Essential Skills

  • Red Seal Journey Electrician ticket.

  • Proficient in conduit bending.

  • Experience with commercial, institutional, or industrial projects.

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Lead hand experience is a plus.

  • Previous hospital project experience is highly desirable.

  • Fall arrest certificate is beneficial.

Work Environment

The work schedule offers flexibility with options for 4-10's (Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday) or a standard Monday to Friday 8-hour shift. The project is conveniently located next to a SkyTrain station for easy transit access. The estimated project completion date is July 2026. Union wages start at $48.20/hour for Journeymen, with increases scheduled for May 2025. All benefits, including the pension package, are determined by the union.
