Alliance Automation Powder Coat Technician in Van Wert, Ohio

A Powder Coat Technician at Alliance Automation performs a variety of manual labor associated with the coating application and production process, which may include loading and unloading materials, moving parts and equipment, painting and coating parts, cleaning and maintaining parts and equipment, and providing routine assistance and support.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibilities may include lifting and loading items, preparing parts for coating, applying coating of parts, cleaning and maintaining equipment
  • Ensures policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment and efficient operations; will require the employee to wear safety equipment or gear (standard PPE)
  • Communicates with production, procurement, quality control, warehousing, and other departments to ensure quality products
  • Moves pallets, totes, parts, and equipment using a pallet jack or forklift
  • Makes adjustments to paint booth, guns, and all equipment in the powder coating area; following proper procedures
  • Ensures all equipment is functioning properly and within specification
  • May operate various equipment and machinery under direct supervision or as certified or trained
  • Follows manufacturing schedules as assigned
  • Flexibility required to support daily operations
  • Performs other duties as assigned in the fabrication area, including supporting fabrication shop operations

     

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Preferred:

  • Experience within powder coating operations
  • Some previous painting or coatings experience using air and electronic spraying equipment is highly preferred
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment

     

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis
  • Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs
  • Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing
  • May work indoors and outdoors as needed, and be exposed to occasional high heat
  • May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt
  • The employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate effectively
