Senior Material Planner

Compensation: $75,000 - $90,000 / year

Description

Planning material based on production planning, scheduling and sales forecast. Manage the material forecast and proactively identify potential supply risk due to demand change or supply chain bottlenecks. Drive cross-functional actions to mitigate supply risk and secure continuous material supply to meet on time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review new customer orders, production planning daily and prioritize material requirements accordingly to meet these demands.

  • Analyze demand to run material planning report and drive the purchasing activities and internal material qualifications.

  • Work with purchasing to schedule, expedite, push out or cancel orders based on material planning.

  • Daily track the material shortage for each project and coordinate with buyer, engineer, manufacturing to solve the material shortage issue and escalate immediately if urgent.

  • Considering parts inventory and demand, release regular forecast for suppliers to meet production requirements.

  • Analyzing excess and obsolete/aging inventory. Taking appropriate action for optimizing inventory performance, in collaboration with sales, PLM, manufacturing and procurement etc.

  • Inventory forecasting, management and analysis, control the inventory at a reasonable level to meet target.

  • Drive continuous improvement of internal material planning processes, methodology and tooling.

  • Track, manage and cycle count inventory of raw materials, work in process and finished goods to ensure they stay within planned levels and report pertinent planning information back to management.

  • Conducting financial risk assessments decisions relating to inventory, conducts root case analysis when necessary.

  • Maintain safety and good housekeeping principles.

  • Follow and support all safety practices by wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE), following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and complying with safety signs and placards, maintaining good housekeeping, communicating unsafe practices and conditions to your local or PD EHS teams, and reporting all safety incidents (including near misses) as they occur.

  • Any other duties that may be assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • At least 4 years material planning, supply chain related experience with college degree

  • Must have minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Good communication skills and teamwork mindset

  • Logical thinking and result-driven

  • Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint

  • Experience in a manufacturing planning capacity with working knowledge of Oracle systems, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Process and Routings.

Knowles is committed to providing a competitive and fair total compensation package for all employees.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $75,000 to $90,000 per year.

Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Knowles, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range.
