Typical Allocation of Duties:
Supervision, Leadership, and Community Development - 35% Supervise graduate assistants and student staff, develop student leadership programs, and support community-building initiatives.
Housing Operations and Budget Management - 20% Oversee area budgets, payroll, occupancy management, maintenance requests, and financial accountability.
Student Engagement and Success - 15% Provide student support, track at-risk alerts, maintain daily student contact, and collaborate with campus partners.
Student Conduct and Crisis Management - 15% Serve as a hearing officer, manage student conflicts, enforce policies, and participate in the HRL on-call duty rotation.
Staff Recruitment, Training, and Development - 10% Recruit, train, and supervise graduate and student staff while coordinating professional development programs.
Special Projects and Summer Programs - 5% Manage summer camps or Heart program, assist with orientation events, and oversee special housing initiatives.
Supervisor Expectations:
Housing Supervisor
Supervise graduate assistants and student staff (RHD's, RAs, FDW's)
Develop student leadership opportunities and work to enhance area community
Promote staff teamwork and coordinate staff duty/area coverage
Support the development of residential Learning Communities
Oversee area residential area budget
Payroll for Residence Life undergraduate student staff employees
Co-teach Residential Assistant class including, but not limited to, reservation of classroom spaces, annual evaluation of course materials and training for supplemental instructors
Coordinate professional development opportunities for the department
Co-develop Residential Curriculum for 4 distinct residential experiences for students according to class standing
Assist in the development of Living Learning Communities in residential area
Assist all in-hall tutoring - pay approval, scheduling, rotation, etc.
Contribute to development of tiered educational plans for departmental curriculum
Serve as contact person for at-risk alerts though student success portal system. Compile information for RHD's regarding trends in their residence halls to be addressed through engagement methods
Maintain daily student contact within residential area
Create strong partnerships within the student affairs division and with other departments on-campus, including: faculty, security/campus police, dining services, academic support services, physical plant, and administrative offices
Promote departmental community development model, advise community Area Council, provide leadership to graduate and undergraduate student staff
Manage front desk services for each residence hall in ones residential area of supervision
Maintain accurate records regarding occupancy, room changes, maintenance requests, damage billing, etc.
Provide appropriate referrals for students regarding academic, social, and psychological issues
Serve as a judicial hearing officer and support the divisional protocol regarding the student code of conduct
Manage department projects/initiatives at the direction of the departmental leadership
