Job Description: Cayuga Centers is immediately hiring a Preventive Case Planner Earn $28.00/hour, plus 3 weeks vacation, 10 calendar holidays (Includes 1 floating holiday), 24 hours personal time, and up to 80 sick days. About the Program and Position The Preventive Case Planning Program provides support and coordinated treatment provision for children and families to work through high-risk family-identified concerns, learn new skills, and prevent the removal of children. The successful candidate will supervise a team of six Preventive Case Planners, nurture a safe and healthy office environment, and maintain positive working relationships with our stakeholders at the Oneida County Department of Family and Community Services. The successful candidate will provide Preventive Case Planning Services to children, youth, and families in this new contract program. The Preventive Case Planner will work closely with the county, the Preventive Case Planning Services Team, and other service providers to ensure children, youth, and families’ needs are met safely!   • Engage children, youth, and families in case planning activities to prevent out of home placement/support youth returning home from placement

  • Conduct assessments of strengths and needs

  • Develop and carry out service plans to support youth and families in goal achievement

  • Assist children, youth, and families in achieving timely and lasting permanency

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience in the Child Welfare or Juvenile Justice systems

  • Experience in the human services field and working with at-risk populations, preferred

  • Ability and willingness to work with families in an "in-home" context

  • Ability to understand child development

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively and patiently with others in difficult and/or stressful situations
