JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania State University (https://psu.edu) is seeking exceptional candidates, with strong leadership and strategic planning skills, for the position of Title IX Coordinator. Reporting directly to the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, the Title IX Coordinator is responsible for leading efforts across the University to ensure compliance with federal Title IX policies and related federal and state statutory and regulatory requirements regarding sex and gender-based discrimination, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking and all other forms of sexual misconduct. The Coordinator will develop and implement a long-term strategic plan for the University’s adherence to Title IX and all related policies and procedures, and oversee the development and implementation of related programs, services, and education/outreach for students, staff, and faculty.

The Coordinator will manage the University’s response to all Title IX complaints and ensure timely and thorough completion of all Title IX investigations, in partnership with appropriate offices (e.g., Office of Sexual Misconduct Reporting and Response, Office of Equal Opportunity and Access, Office of Student Accountability and Conflict Response, Gender Equity Center, Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity, Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, Office of Ethics and Compliance, and Human Resources). This position will also monitor gender equity and the application of Title IX policies within Intercollegiate Athletics. The Coordinator will keep abreast of current state and federal laws, regulations and trends related to Title IX and provide ongoing consultation regarding Title IX requirements, grievance issues, and compliance programs to central administrative units and groups, across all Penn State Campuses.

The Title IX Coordinator will consult with University leadership regarding the staffing structure and administrative needs of units which support the University’s adherence to Title IX, including coordination of a staff conducting investigations and providing support for the University Park campus, the Commonwealth Campuses, and World Campus. The Coordinator will organize and maintain grievance files, disposition reports, and other compiled records regarding complaints of sexual harassment and other gender discriminatory practices and prepare annual statistical reports on the incidences of gender and sexual harassment and sexual misconduct. Additionally, the Coordinator will oversee the development and implementation of assessment instruments to measure the reach, effectiveness, and impact of Title IX related initiatives, and maintain the University’s Title IX database and website.

Education and Experience:

This position will be filled at a manager level. Typically requires a Master's Degree or higher plus five years of related Title IX, Title VII, VAWA and Clery knowledge and experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Juris Doctor degree is preferred.

The position requires an advanced level of knowledge regarding the Office of Civil Rights’ procedures related to Title IX adherence in higher education, as well as proven strategic leadership experience in the implementation of Title IX policies and procedures. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent judgment, organizational, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), and presentation skills, and the ability to coordinate collaboration among individuals and units within a multi-campus, highly interdisciplinary environment.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$97,100.00 - $145,700.00
