JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Laboratory of Associate Professor David D. Boehr in the Department of Chemistry , at The Pennsylvania State University seeks to fill a Postdoctoral Research position in the field of solution-state NMR and protein biophysics.

Research will involve conducting and evaluating solution-state NMR experiments on viral proteins, including 3D/4D NOESY-based experiments for resonance assignments and NMR relaxation methods to evaluate protein conformational dynamics. Research will also involve complementary methods in calorimetry and fluorescence spectroscopy.

The ideal Postdoctoral candidates will have research experience in one or more of the following fields: NMR spectroscopy, Protein Biophysics, Microbiology, Virology, Protein expression and Purification, Enzymology.

Applicants must have recently received, or be scheduled to receive, a Ph.D.in an area broadly relevant to our research program by the time employment starts. The individual should be self-motivated and is expected to lead their own individual projects, as well as contribute to collaborative research efforts.

The initial appointment is funded for one-year from the date of hire with a possibility of re-funding.
