NBC Universal Senior Financial Analyst in Universal City, California

Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Purpose

Universal Studio Group (USG) is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst, Finance to join our Studio Ultimates team. The Ultimates team, part of the broader USG Finance organization, plays an integral role in managing studio P&Ls, individual series profitability, and providing insightful analysis to drive the strategic decision-making processes and operations of USG. The individual will interact with multiple facets of NBCUniversal including Global TV Distribution, internal streaming and network teams (Peacock, NBC Network, etc), Production, Participations, and Residuals. The scope of core responsibilities include financial planning and analysis, TV ultimate management, quarterly ultimates reviews, monthly pacing submissions, as well as our annual budget and long-range plan. The individual will also gain exposure to various ad hoc analyses related to deal terms, slate/series strategic decisions, and studio operations. This role will report to the Director of Finance for USG.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide essential support in tracking, forecasting, and reporting USG series ultimate P&Ls, including variance analysis

  • Manage the process for quarterly ultimate reviews with Distribution Markets, Participations, and Residuals teams

  • Facilitate monthly/quarterly closing processes and related compliance activities

  • Present out bi-annual ultimate P&L reviews by show to USG senior leadership

  • Perform ad hoc scenario analysis on slate changes to help studio leadership make informed decisions

Basic Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or equivalent practical experience 

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Finance, Consulting, or FP&A experience preferred 

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical and PC skills 

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of finance, operations, and senior management

  • Team Player with ability to function in a cross functional environment and willingness to jump into projects to meet department goals 

  • Entertainment / Media / TV Production experience preferred 

Additional Requirements

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week

  • Willingness to work extended hours with short notice during critical planning cycles
