    Your role.

    Provide holistic financial advice to clients utilizing knowledge of taxes, estate planning, insurance, retirement planning, education planning, and investment strategies. Duties include assessing clients' assets, liabilities, cash flow, tax status, and financial objectives to establish investment strategies and financial plan. Work within team to manage client relationships and provide day to day oversight on ongoing projects and investment portfolio management. Review work products of planners and leverage deep technical expertise.

    Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Engaging in client discussions to determine client's assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, tax status, charitable intentions, and financial objectives

  • Analyzing client's financial status; designing and developing timely financial plans and procedures based on analysis of data, and discussing financial options with client

  • Leading various practice development activities, resource gathering, and service product development assignments and leading design and presentation of sales process

  • Networking with internal peers and external professionals to promote knowledge of service offering

  • Preparing and reviewing documents to engage client and implement plan selected by client

  • Managing the new client onboarding process

  • Consulting with clients on risk tolerance and investment policy

  • Conveying regulatory, legal, and technical issues to appropriate parties

  • Performing recurring quality control procedures on account activity (assuring mutual fund trades and wires with appropriate custodians have taken place, distributions to the client, etc.)

  • Maintaining contact with client to revise existing plan based on modified needs of client or changes in investment market

  • Utilizing internal trading system to propose trades for client portfolios

  • Discussing current long term macroeconomic trends and portfolio items to clients

  • Tax planning and consulting with CPA on tax compliance matters for clients

  • General estate planning and coordination with external attorneys and internal wealth transfer specialist

    The qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance required

  • 3+ years of experience as a Financial Planner (within a brokerage, RIA, financial planning firm/practice, or money management firm)

  • Pursuit of CFP will be required, if not already obtained

  • Skilled at working with numbers and budgets and ability to understand complicated financial documents

  • Strong Excel skills preferred

  • Passion for networking, developing relationships, and pursuing new client opportunities

Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) Information

Compensation is commensurate with technical skills and experience and is provided in accordance with the CO Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Compensation information posted is based on a position being located in the state of CO. Please review position location for applicable geographic location.

Colorado monthly base range is as follows:

$7,041.67 to $9,875.00

We are pleased to offer eligible staff a robust benefits package. Eligibility and contribution requirements for some of these benefits vary based on the number of hours staff work per week. Highlights include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. These standard offerings are effective on the first of the month following your start date. In addition to this, eligible staff are able to take advantage of our Flexible Time Off and various pre-determined holidays as well as a balance fund, 401(k) plan, flexible benefits plans, business-related travel expense, lodging and meal reimbursement for business-related use. A Pension plan is also available for eligible administrative and paraprofessional staff. A discretionary bonus plan is available for eligible staff. Plante Moran also offers Interns and Contractors the option to elect health insurance under our contingent staff medical plan as of the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment in addition to limited paid time sick time. Seasonal staff are not eligible for benefits.
