This position is responsible for the supervision of assigned police section. Directs, assigns, and schedules police officers to contribute to the interest of loss prevention, life safety and quality patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1.High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required for this position. 2. Certifiable Police Officer under the Private Policing ACT 501 within 6 months of hire. 3.ACT 120 Certification Municipal Police Officer Certification 4. Act 235 Lethal Weapons Certification 4.Complete M.P.O.E.T.C. In-service training yearly. 5.Qualify or exhibit competency with department supplemental defense and weapons systems; (i.e., Less Lethal systems, handcuffs, Tasers, Defensive tactics, and training) within 3 months of hire. 6.Must not have a criminal background check record with an offense higher than a summary offense. 7.Valid PA operator's license. EXPERIENCE: 1. 5 years experience as a police officer OR 10 years of related Law Enforcement Experience 2. 2 years lead and/or supervisory experience in a hospital, municipal, or military setting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1.Associate degree in related field of study preferred.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1.Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of assigned team, including scheduling, directing, and assigning tasks, functions and priorities. 2.Ensure efficient work performance and assists in training and administrative duties. 3.Responsible for the employee relations of the team, including interviewing, counseling, advising, evaluation and recommending disciplinary action. 4.Orients new employees. 5.Supervises the preparation of documents, reports and records by his team and assists the Director with evaluations of assigned team. 6. Collects and complies data and generates reports to comply with UHPD regulatory agencies. 7.Completes assigned projects within established time frames. 8. Complete M.P.O.E.T.C in service training yearly and demonstrate competency in department software systems needed for role including but not limited to: Pelco, Galaxy, Informant, Lynx Alert System. 9.Performs other duties as assigned.

1.Proper handling of use of force. 2.Complete and qualify with all department weapon systems and training as required. 3.Good judgement under stressful situations. 4.Ability to communicate with all levels to effect positive outcomes 5.Ability to maintain/update the computer competencies as required for the position. 6.Effective verbal and written communication skills.
