Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Union, New Jersey

Description

Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for a role onsite in the Union County, NJ area. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be involved in various tasks that ensure the smooth functioning of our accounting department. Your responsibilities will include maintaining confidentiality while handling vendor and customer information, processing a high volume of vendor invoices, and providing administrative support as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Handle vendor and customer information with utmost integrity and confidentiality

• Review, process, and match a high volume of vendor invoices with purchase orders and bills of lading, ensuring accuracy and completeness

• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding the status of vendor accounts, thereby maintaining positive vendor relations

• Issue checks and ACH payments, create positive pay files for banking, and prepare daily customer deposit for paper checks received by mail

• Assist in collection efforts for past due customer accounts receivable through telephone and email

• Perform month-end statement reconciliations to the ERP System for vendors

• Provide administrative support including filing as needed

• Handle daily inventory received in the ERP System

• Distribute mail and most metal invoices received via email

• Provide supporting documentation for audits.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience with Check Runs

• Ability to perform Data Entry tasks accurately and efficiently

• Prior experience in Invoice Processing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new processes and systems

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically

• Time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
